How it (the software) works...

Lakeselect.JPG

     1. Using the Lake Scan Viewer software, select the
Lake that you are interested in from those listed the
lake selection buttons (blue) at the left side of the
screen (a new Lake will be added when you order the first
set of IMAGES of that Lake.)

     2. A picture of that lake should be displayed with
different color tracks around and inside it.
Note : The colors are used over again but generally,
a SCAN SET should be of a color different than either
of the SCAN SETS adjacent to it. Each different
color identifies a SCAN SET consisting of line segments
seperated by tick marks that indicate the area of
lake bottom covered by a single scan (picture).
If any part of the lake doesn't have
a colored track then, that section of the lake
has not been scanned yet.  The example here is Charles
Mill Lake (Southern section) in Ohio.

3. After deciding which section of the lake you are
interested in, select an area of the lake bottom by
left clicking the line segment that brackets the
portion of the bottom you want to look at (above).

4. The Image for that segment of the lake bottom will
be displayed on your screen showing you what is under
the water. Click on any feature in the image and its
Latitude and Longitude will be displayed for you (right).
Simply plug the numbers into your GPS and cruise to that
spot on the lake OR, use the size / distance tool to get a
compass bearing and distance between objects under
the water and points on the shoreline. Then, position
yourself on that point of land and cast your line in the
direction of the compass bearing and for the distance given.
